The line to make a Monkey Fist should not be made out of light line but not too heavy of a line either. The knot can easily fit in the palm of your hand. Monkey Fist is a knot that can also be known to hide small valuables inside the middle of it as well.

It is simple to make a Monkey Fist as well. You can either use a small u-shaped metal piece or use your fingers to start it off. First, you wrap the line around your fingers three times and take the end piece and pull it through the middle three times. Then you take the end again and pass it through the middle again and lock in the previous lines. Continue to do this until there are 3 lines on each side of the fist. In the end, it actually looks like a Monkey’s Fist. Depending on the string will determine the weight of it for different purposes.
